About Us

Since the end of apartheid, many Muslim families has returned and settled in Albertville. AMJ was then established in 2006 with the aim of establishing a mosque to provide to the religious needs of the Muslim residents. By the Almighty's blessing, we have grown as a Jamaat and welcome any who wishes to join AMJ. We welcome one and all, males & females.

Madrassah & Salaah Area

At present, Albertville Muslim Jamaat utilizes the house on the property for Madrassah & Salaah purposes. Due to rezoning issues AMJ decided to convert the household’s lounge area to a salaah area which is utilised for Madrassah purposes as well.

Zakaah Food Parcels

To date, the Jamaat has delivered groceries and clothing parcels to deserving and needy Muslims as well as Non-Muslims in Albertville and the surrounding areas and even as far as Lydenburg Uloom, Dannhauser and Morgenzon.

Albertville Welfare Program (Zakaat)

Our “Welfare Department” is headed by Appa Layla, who teached at the Newclare Madressa for more then 30 years. She is actively involved in the community and is well known and trusted by the community members.

Eid Breakfast & Lunch

Albertville Muslim Jamaat has been having Eid functions specifically aimed to provide a joyous and happy Eid to our less fortunate Muslim Brethren since 1432/2011 and to date still continues to do this for our community.
